The qualifications to be a Mason are clear and distinct. There are physical, moral and spiritual qualifications. You must be of good moral character. They must also believe in a Creator/The Light and the Soul.
2° - Proficient
The Mind
Gaining knowledge, working on fidelity and applying it to your character and improving the society in which we live in. The second degree seeks to educate you in The Liberal Arts and Sciences.
3° - Master
Perfecting The Soul;
The Trowel cements ties between Masons, and helps us spread Love. The Trowel is a symbol for love that is specifically related to the soul's relation with Spirit. It should be remembered that tools have always aligned us with the creative and builder spirit within us.
In early times, some religions regarded Deity in three aspects. The secrets known only to these Three Grand Masters typify Divine Truth, which was known only to Deity, and was not to be communicated to man until he had completed his own spiritual temple.
